River North Halloween Bar Crawl 2026
Halloween weekend in the densest bar district in Chicago. Hubbard, Kinzie and Division, mostly inside a four-block box, which is why the hops are the shortest of the six routes. We ran this crawl in 2025 and handed out more than 500 wristbands.
A free welcome shot when you check in. One drink token for every stop on your route. Your wristband covers the door at each stop during that stop's published window. 21+ with valid government-issued photo ID.

Why River North
It is the crawl we have already run
The only route on this site with photographs and a headcount behind it. More than 500 wristbands last Halloween, eleven venues, and 283 photographs from the night.
The shortest walking between stops
Four of the 2025 venues sat on one block of West Hubbard, and three more on West Kinzie one street over. You can reach five rooms without walking further than you would inside a stadium.
An early start and a late anchor
The 2025 route ran 6pm to midnight, with the last venue open to wristbands from 11pm. In this neighborhood that is the right shape: an early start while the good rooms are still enterable, and a late room for the people still standing.

Check-in was Electric Hotel, 222 W Ontario St. Two rows per stop, on purpose: the door window and the drink special window are separate clocks and we do not print them as though they were one.

Four rooms on one block of Hubbard, three on Kinzie one street over, one on Orleans and two at a single Division Street address. That is the whole argument for this route.
Gold Coast Social and Galeria are their own venue brands, run by their own operator. They were route stops in 2025, nothing more.

Verbatim from our own 2025 listing. Read it the right way: these were prices the bars offered to everyone in the room. They are worth having and we negotiate them, but they are not what your ticket buys.
What changes for 2026
Every special gets its own start and end time, published separately from the door window. A discounted drink and an open door are two different clocks, and running them together is how a venue gets its licence looked at.
Your ticket buys the welcome shot, a token at each stop and the door. Everything above belongs to the bar.
The list
The lineup, and when it locks
The 2026 River North route, every address, every door window and every drink special window publish on a date we name in advance. From that date the list is locked.
If a venue drops out after the lock date
We tell every ticket holder by text and email within 24 hours, name the replacement, and you can transfer your ticket to another Crawlloween night or to another person at no cost.
Nothing above is a 2026 commitment. The 2025 roster is published as history, so you can see what a locked list looks like before you spend money on one.
